News » Blake On Strength Training
Strength training is vital to your health. Consistent strength training has both mental and physical benefits for the whole body. No matter what your motivation to do it is, at the end of the day all that matters is that you actually do it. Personally, my strength training goals and thus routines have evolved over the years to specifically achieve my desired effect. In high school my strength training revolved around power and explosiveness while competing in wrestling and football. Then in college while studying dietetics I leaned out and focused on strength training for running endurance and agility while playing competitive club ultimate frisbee and participating in a multitude of triathlons and trail races. Now in my late 20’s, and with 10 years of group fitness and personal training experience under my belt, my personal, client’s, and group fitness strength training routines revolve around functional movement patterns with cardio/core intervals for optimal results in the shortest amount of time. Because let’s face it, time is money. What I love about Krank strength training classes (that I also take and participant in) is that the instructor has already thought out the entire routine to give me a full body efficient workout that I don’t have to think about. All I have to do is show up, listen, and be prepared to work to the bumping sound system. My strength training advice for those without motivation? Don’t over think it! Just go to a strength training class and do it!
