Everyone has the ability to stick with something if they want it badly enough. Keep the following tips handy for the times you can’t seems to stay motivated! And speak up–let us know you need a boost. Figure out where you want to be this time next year and start taking the steps to get there. Resolution burn out, it’s a tale as old as time. But not this time! This year we say #KeepItIn2017!

DO IT

The first step can be the hardest one to take, so don’t make excuses when the time comes to start on your resolution. It doesn’t have to be January 1st, but you should pick a date and stick to it. Once you take the plunge, all the anxieties and nervousness you had before will fade away and you will realize how achievable your goal actually is.

Adopt the Right Mindset

Being in the right state of mind is essential to accomplishing your goals. To put yourself in a position to succeed, you must be ambitious, realistic, and confident in your abilities. Research what you need to do to meet your end goal before you start – that way you’re well prepared.

Become Part of a Supportive Community

If you’re in Nashville, KrankFIT thrives because of our amazing clients supportive attitudes. Come check it out and bring a friend. Nashville is growing, but we are still small town at heart! We have built a supportive community by focusing on the efficient of the workout.  Being knowledgeable about form and why good form works, is how we get our classes to push through a challenge and reach goals together. Whether you prefer the early morning jumpstart or letting go after a tough day at work – we are here for you.

If you’re not in Nashville, follow along with us the next couple of months, we have many great ideas lined up to share! And come see us, when you are back in town.

Set Concrete Goals

This goes back to being prepared. Having a plan helps you break down your big goal into smaller steps, which allows you to see progress and feel motivated by taking action towards your larger goal! It won’t happen in a day, but with persistence… you can do it.

Think Positively

You wouldn’t expect to play perfectly the first time you pick up an instrument, so why would you expect to be able to show up the rest of the gym with perfect form on your first day? Going into a new situation with realistic expectations and a positive attitude are critical to seeing progress and ultimately reaching your goal. Don’t let the difficulty at the beginning make your new hobby a burden. Remain positive about the fact that you are learning something and savor those feelings of accomplishment when you make progress.

Understand That You May Hit Setbacks

We can guarantee that, with any New Year’s resolution, you will experience obstacles, lack of motivation, or times where you just don’t feel like you are making any progress. These aren’t failures, they’re just bumps along the road to your future success. Recognizing that hitting a setback doesn’t mean that you’ve failed is absolutely essential to pushing forward.

Reward Yourself Along the Way

Only you can determine what will keep you motivated, but treating yourself to something nice, especially early on, will keep you focused on building a habit. As that habit becomes ingrained into your routine, you can taper off your rewards – but don’t forget that you deserve nice things. You’re great.

Now – go figure out where you want to be this time next year and start taking the steps to get there.

Happy New Year!
